YMCA

Promoting ‘positive values and healthier communities’ for more than 150 years, this development agreement proposed space that would provide a new home for the YMCA of Greater Halifax in our downtown core. Sited next to Halifax’s beloved and protected Citadel and Public Gardens and on the site of the historic CBC building, the development agreement process was lengthy and intense but found ways to address the concerns of neighbours and respect its coveted location.  The completed project will house new sports and community facilities as well as commercial and residential components. This project is currently under construction.
