A little about me...
After 16 years of practice Heather Bown made the decision to branch out on her own to found a practice that reflected her values and belief in design. With a focus on collaboration, community, and consultation, Co:Work was born.
Heather grew up in Newfoundland and moved to Nova Scotia to pursue architecture, receiving a Master of Architecture from Dalhousie University. She’s practiced in England and in Canada with Nycum and Associates and Michael Napier Architecture, acquiring a broad set of skills. Her work included developing large and small healthcare, long-term care homes, aviation and transportation facilities, residential developments, and commercial projects.
Heather believes that architecture has the capability to improve our daily experiences and that an integrated design provides her clients with the best possible outcome. Her interest in pragmatic and sensitive design starts with understanding her client’s needs and evolves into working closely with consultants and contractors to guide the design to fruition.
Heather enjoys an active lifestyle with her two orangutan kids and MAMIL husband. She’s often found scouring cookbooks looking for inspiration for the next meal, squeezing in a yoga class, or running alongside her kids on their bikes.
